As we all know fashion trends come and then they go, and sure enough, they come back again. After a short and well deserved hibernation (very short, these things seem to come back every other season), The Cape trend is back for AW’14, and we could not be happier.

Sure capes make the logistics of wearing a purse a bit, shall we say – tricky, but we are happy to carry a clutch for the sake of this kick ass outerwear.

This trend is big, it was on AW’14 runways all around the world. It’s on the streets and on celebrities (Golden Globes anyone? here & here), and of course on fashionistas.

This time around designers have really outdone themselves and have produced the most wearable, versatile and varied cape options. From feminine and romantic to structured and architectural, from short caplets to long cloaks, there is definitely something for every taste. Best part of all, they are great for spring as well!

Israeli Designers got in on the action as well.

Some tips on how to wear capes without looking like a Caped Crusader:

Get a cape in a neutral color, as it will go with nearly everything. Shades like black, brown, or gray are easy to mix into your wardrobe.
Be color conscious, avoid wearing head-to-toe black, or you’ll look like Count Dracula (Transylvania: Europe? Not Europe? Not cute).
Balance the volume – A cape will add volume to your shape, so make sure you balance it out with slim fitted pants.
For a more girly feel, rock this trend with a mini skirt and opaque tights. This look will show off and elongate your legs, and allow the coat to stand out, while not swallowing you up.

Short girls – Capes that fall about hip length are your best bet for body-lengthening illusions.
Tall girls – Capes that hit above your waist will make you look like you’re wearing your little sister’s coat — try a style that hits below the hip.
The purse issue – The best solution is to carry a satchel-style handbag, or for night a clutch. Either way it’s a classy look!

Now you can feel like a super hero without looking like one!

Bonus Israeli design – is it a cape, is it a dress? We love it regardless!
